Born in 1950, Michel Dupont is a self-taught painter, sculptor and printmaker, who enjoys exploring and experimenting with various printing techniques. In the 70s, his explorations begin with the production of harmoniously composed silk-screen prints and move on to research on paper, seen as transformable matter. This new aspect of his work leads him to make his paper by hand, so as to create sculptural forms. Heavily influenced by bas-relief, he establishes a technique halfway between printmaking and painting to produce unique works. Michel Dupont is actively involved in several crafts associations and has created works that are now part of several private and public collections in Canada, the United States and Europe.
