Abraham Anghik Ruben

Originally from the Northwest Territories, Abraham Anghik Ruben was inducted into the Order of Canada in 2016. Since 1986, he has been living and working as a sculptor in Salt Spring Island, BC. Graduates of the Native Arts Centre at the University of Alaska, he has participated in several contemporary art exhibitions, such as Noah’s Ark, held at the National Gallery of Canada. His work is part of important museum collections, such as the Canadian Museum of History, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian and the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
