In this depiction of the Ragnarok story of the Viking End of Days, I have chosen to portray the demise of the God Odin as he is devoured by Fenrir, the Giant Wolf. Fenrir the wolf, “He Who Dwells in the Marshes” was the child of Loki, sometimes referred to as the trickster God. The gods became so troubled by how quickly Fenrir grew, and how strong he became that they decided to put him in chains. During Ragnarok, he broke loose and ran all over the world with his upper jaw in the sky, and his lower jaw against the ground, consuming everything in his path. It was at this time that he killed Odin before finally being killed by one of Odin’s sons.
