After studying Guitar Making at the Cégep du Vieux Montréal, luthier William Parent Senez set up shop at the Collectif de Luthier La Corde in 2021. He began freelancing as soon as he graduated. Since then, he has focused his efforts on building top-of-the-line electric guitars. His goal is to elevate the electric guitar beyond the status of a mere manufactured object. His solid-body guitar model, the Psari, is a kind of ambassador for his philosophy. It incorporates several techniques, including wood carving, the use of metallic pigments and, most recently, gilding. The electric guitar offers great flexibility in shape, a unique characteristic he can use as an artist. He is interested in object design, architecture, and other art and craft forms. He recently took a gilding workshop with Marie-France Kech, who specializes in traditional decorative painted finishes and gilding techniques.
