Vivi Lamarre studied Visual Arts and Art History before devoting herself to making jewellery and sculptural objects. Her interest in working with wood comes from her family heritage. Having grown up surrounded by woodworkers, she was quickly captivated by the warmth and richness inherent in this material. Since 2020, she has been creating statement pieces between contemporary jewellery and wall art. Driven by an aesthetic grounded in balance, she considers the weight of shapes in search of bold, emblematic compositions. Her work is based on a study of elementary forms, with an interest in geometric assemblages and their potential to illustrate sensitive themes in an evocative and poetic way. Winner of the 2015 Montreal Fashion Competition, she also received the Prix Jean-Cartier 2018, presented by the Conseil des métiers d'art du Québec. Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions in Canada and abroad, including at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York (2022) and more recently as part of the Révélations biennale internationale des métiers d'art et création (2023).
