Born in Kinngait (Cape Dorset, NU), Tim Pee is one of Baffin Island's youngest and best-known carvers. Raised with an enhanced awareness of Inuit traditional ways and an understanding of the importance of preserving the land and Inuit culture, Tim Pee has depicted traditional Inuit subject matter in his works since the age of fifteen. His long and elegant standing or walking bears, each with a unique character and expressive face, convey power and majesty, commanding the room's attention. He chooses his piece of stone carefully to showcase the beauty of the stone through his sculpture.
