Kinngait (Cape Dorset, NU) based artist Taqialuq Nuna first learned to carve by watching his father, Sharky Nuna, and made his first sculpture at eight years old. Spending a lot of his time hunting, animals inspired Taqialuq Nuna's artistic practice, which he often depicts in well rounded and comfortable shapes. He participated in various carving workshops and demonstrations to learn more about his medium. In addition to having been in numerous exhibitions, his works are part of prestigious public collections, including those of the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec (QC) and the Indigenous Art Centre (Ottawa, ON).
