Based in Saskatoon (SK), ceramic artist and teacher Sandra Ledingham is interested in the history of clay and its applications. Her practice was shaped first by her studies in sociology and fine arts at the University of Regina (SK), then by her extensive travels around the world and her time in Yucatan (Mexico), where she still resides part-time. The shapes, constructions, and surfaces in her work are informed by her fascination for the human condition and her love for architecture, specifically clay dwellings of ancient civilizations. Her work has been exhibited in Canada and internationally and won numerous awards, including the 3D Gold Award by FusionArt in the exhibition Colors in 2018 (Palm Springs, CA).
