Pauline Loctin

Born in central France and now based in Montreal for over ten years, Pauline Loctin is a paper sculptor whose practice explores paper folding techniques. The sculpture and design of paper costumes and murals allow her to reach different audiences through a profound work of colour, as well as through the study of different types of papers, their textures and their potentials. It is by exploring all the avenues that paper offers—by painting, folding, crumpling, glueing, making it a medium capable of offering much more than a visual experience—that she creates spaces of real human exchange in which nature, cultures, and humanities intersect. This notion of creating unique universes can be seen in projects such as Coral, a public art installation presented in downtown Montreal.
