Born in Ottawa, Paula Murray is a ceramic artist living and working by Meech Lake (QC) since 1980. She first studied science at the University of Ottawa and then went to Sheridan College to learn ceramics. Her practice explores the connection between mind and body and the ephemeral nature of our presence on earth. The artist attempts to better understand, shape, and articulate the relationship between our spirituality and physicality. Besides winning numerous awards and exhibiting her work in Italy, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan, Paula Murray was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (2006) and the International Academy of Ceramics (2017).
