Born in Kinngait (Cape Dorset, NU), Nicotye Samayualie is a skillful graphic artist who grew up in a family of accomplished artists (the Ashoona). She is part of a new generation of artists who are inspired by contemporary life and often depict modern objects in their work. Part of the Cape Dorset Annual Print Collection since 2013, her detailed drawings have been exhibited across Canada and the United States and part of major institutions such as the Art Gallery of Ontario and the National Gallery of Canada (ON).
