Born in Shizuoka, Japan, glass artist Minori Takagi has been studying Tomdodama–glass beads created using ancient lampworking techniques–since 1997. Since moving to Vancouver (BC) in 2006, Minori Takagi has incorporated contemporary elements into her style. Her jewellery includes chains and uses soft glass as well as borosilicate glass. Through its shapes, her art reminds her of the magic of the raw substance from which a new and poetic creation emerges. Minori Takagi has participated in several exhibitions, including the International Lampwork Festival (Kobe, Japan) and the Best Bead Show (Tucson, AZ).
