Born and based in Montreal, Michèle Lapointe is a self-taught glass artist whose works combine solid glass, photographs, found objects and optical effects to explore a sense of distress in human beings. In addition to her creative work, she is deeply involved at Espace Verre, where she has previously served on the board of directors and is teaching since 1989. Her work has been presented in Canada, the United States, South Korea, Belgium and France and can be found in several public and private collections, including those of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Musée-atelier du verre in Sars-Poteries (FR).
