Mel Munsen

    Born in San Diego, Mel Munsen is an internationally renowned glass artist living and working in Victoria (BC). He received his BFA in Graphic Design from Portland State University in 1969 and studied glassblowing for six months before immigrating to Canada to begin his career. Since then, he has developed a technique for fusing and slumping glass, a complex process that results in unique pieces. His work has been in exhibitions in Japan, Korea, Canada, and the United States. He is part of many public and private collections, including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec.
