Maryse Chartrand, a graduate from the Centre des métiers du verre du Québec, started her career as a glass artist in 2013 after working in communications for 25 years. She views each of her pieces as a canvas on which she paints with glass. Her coloration technique uses exclusively particles of transparent and colored glass that she builds layer upon layer. This process produces rich and organic pieces—a surprise of details, textures and nuances. Her works are held in public and private collections nationally and internationally, including those of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec.
