Lucy Tasseor Tutsweetok

Lucy Tasseor Tutsweetok (1934-2012) is a celebrated inuk artist from Arviat, Nunavut. Tutsweetok is known for her semi-abstract sculptures made of basalt. The subtle but definitive faces and limbs within her sculptures follow across the edges of the rock, folding human form into the pre-existing contours of the stone. The artist exhibited nationally and internationally, such as France, Switzerland and Germany.
