Loïc Bard specializes in the art of making maple objects and furniture. He graduated from the École d'ébénisterie d'art de Montréal in 2012 and has since participated in exhibitions and design events in New York, Toronto, Paris, Stockholm, London, and Milan. Loïc Bard's work is characterized by the search for pure forms and the expression of sensations or lived impressions. His creative process begins with freely drawn sketches and the sculpture of non-predefined forms. The specific treatment of burnt or bleached maple gives a unique and carnal character to each of his creations, which have won several awards and grants, including the Mobilia Next Prize in 2017.
