Based in Kinngait (Cape Dorset, NU), graphic artist Kudluajuk Ashoona began drawing by watching her daughter Nicotye Samayualie. She rapidly became a respected figure among contemporary artists and is easily recognizable by her nostalgic illustrations depicting daily life in the North. Kudluajuk Ashoona has been featured in several exhibitions at the Inuit Gallery of Vancouver (BC) and Feheley Fine Arts (Toronto, ON), and his part of the collection of the Winnipeg Art Gallery (MB).
