Gustavo Estrada is a Guatemalan jewellery artist based in Montreal who experiments with working with the stiffness of metal. Initially trained at the Visual Arts Center (Montreal, QC), he is currently a professor at the École de Joaillerie de Montréal. The pieces presented have as their main theme the three basic principles of design: form, volume, and texture. Detached from commercial constraints, he rediscovers the full range of emotions through the pleasure of working on an object and its material.
