Eve-Marie Laliberté

Trained as a graphic designer and a ceramist by passion, it was while looking for a medium of expression in stark contrast to the computer that Eve-Marie Laliberté first discovered ceramics. She pursued her university studies in this discipline in Montreal, Vancouver, and Paris. Finding the medium of ceramics has enabled the artist to connect some of her contradictions: rigour and spontaneity, order and chaos, impulsivity and thoughtfulness. She cherishes the rigour required to make a mould and the precision it brings to the reproduction of a piece. She also loves the chance brought by accidents, revealed by splashes of underglaze layered as her brush travels. Her shift towards installation allows her to tackle a creative facet that links her contradictions, questioning, and multiple experiences. In 2023, she participated in a group exhibition at the Musée du Haut-Richelieu (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC) entitled "La danse du geste".
