Emma Senft is an artist and designer working with wood to create sculptures and functional objects. She has developed a craft-oriented practice based on her experiences in visual arts, design, and woodworking. Emma Senft completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts from NSCAD University (Halifax) and a DEP in Cabinetmaking at the Centre de technologie Rosemont à Montréal, where she has been living since 2011. Drawing on traditional techniques, she hand carves to create contrasting surfaces through patterns, textures, and light. She received numerous awards and grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and SODEC. She has participated in multiple artist residencies and exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Canada and the United States.
