Davidee Uppik is a renowned Inuk artist from Sanikiluaq (Belcher Islands, NU) practising in Akulivik (Nunavik, QC). His carvings are made from Sanikiluaq's grey argilite, which gives his sculptures an unmistakable finish. The stone's unique colouring and distinguishable shine emphasise the artist's detailed and whimsical work.
