Cee Pootoogook is an Inuk artist from Kinngait (Cape Dorset, NU). Although he began his artistic career as a sculptor, he abandoned this medium in 2009 to focus on drawing and printmaking. Cee Pootoogook comes from a large family of artists. For one, his sister, Annie Pootoogook is a renowned Inuk contemporary artist. His work generally depicts animals such as bears and caribou in whimsical and colourful settings. His work has been a part of the Cape Dorset Annual Print Collection since 2012 and it is also exhibited here in Canada, the United States, and Germany.
