    Carrie Allison is a multidisciplinary Nêhiýaw/Cree, Métis, and mixed-European visual artist based in K'jipuktuk, Mi'kma'ki (Halifax, Nova Scotia). Her maternal roots and origins are based in maskotewisipiy (High Prairie, AB), Treaty 8. She holds a Master of Fine Arts, a Bachelor of Art History and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University (Halifax, NS). Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Her practice of beadwork and her work with fur compose very colourful and dynamic works. She received the 2020 Melissa Levin Award from the Textile Museum of Canada (Toronto, ON) and was long-listed for the 2021 Sobey Art Award. Her work has been featured in Canadian Art, Elle Quebec, Esse, and Visual Arts News.
