La Guilde is proud to present Monster Faience the first Montreal exhibition for the multidisciplinary artist Lindsay Montgomery. From February 21 to May 12, 2019, La Guilde invites you to discover 15 ceramic artworks drawn from her two most recent series: Neo-Istoriato and Monster Faience. Recipient of the prestigious Winifred Shantz Award issued by the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery in 2018, Lindsay Montgomery is known for her visually dense and subversive ceramic artworks with traces of allegories and history. Her practice is developed through several mediums such as painting, video and installation. Her work is centered on the arrangement of an imaginary and personal mythology which explores issues about death, family, beauty and history.
Monster Faience will kick-off the 2019 program at La Guilde. This exhibition allows La Guilde to continue with its mandate to present and promote emerging artists.
