Admission: $15 / person (Free for La Guilde's members)
Max. 15 participants, 18 years old +

On the occasion of the Prix François-Houdé 2019, come and create a wood sculpture with the artist Emma Senft. During this workshop, the artist will focus on experimentation and play, exploring carving as mark-making to create a variety of contrasting surface textures. She will guide you in the creation of a sculpture designed on a wooden board using carving tools. You will be able to leave with your creation.

Winner of the Prix François-Houdé 2019’s special mention, artist and cabinetmaker Emma Senft creates sculptures and functional art objects in wood. She holds an interdisciplinary BFA from NSCAD University in Halifax, as well as a DEP in Cabinetmaking from Rosemount Technology Centre in Montreal. She has participated in several artist residencies, including the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Colorado and the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship studio fellowship in Rockport, Maine. She has also received grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, SODEC and LOJIQ. In February 2020, the Patton-Malott Gallery, in Colorado, will dedicate a solo exhibition to her work.
