Taalrumiq is an Inuvialuk and Gwich’in (Inuit & Dene) artist, fashion designer, digital content creator, cultural educator, speaker, wife and mother of 5. Born in a segregated Indian hospital to an Inuvialuk mother and Gwich’in father, she has deep roots and family across the north. Taalrumiq is originally from Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories, raised with her Inuvialuit family and community on the shores of the Arctic Ocean. Gifted her great-grandmother's name at birth by local Elders in the customary Inuvialuit way, Taalrumiq uses her traditional name in her professional work, the name of her fashion label and business. Taalrumiq shares her culture with the world through her art, fashion and digital content with a growing global audience across her social media channels. She inspires pride in Indigenous identity, providing an authentic voice and representation, educating about Inuvialuit history, the residential school system and encouraging healing of intergenerational trauma.
