For glass artistPatrick Primeau, glass is a medium of freedom. Exploiting the malleability of the material, he pushes the limits of glass to generate organic forms and intriguing discoveries. His passion for scuba diving and working with glass allows him to create pieces influenced by the meditative moments he spends in the water as well as the unique shapes and colors. Born in Montreal, he worked for various workshops in Canada, in the United States and in France, following his studies at Espace Verre. Back in Montreal in 2004, he co-founded Welmo Glass Studio with Caroline Ouellette. His innovative designs, inspired by Venetian techniques, have earned him a place in various collections such as those of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec.
