Printmaking and drawing artist Ohotaq Mikkigak (1936-2014) began his career in the 1960s, during the early years of the print program in Kinngait (Cape Dorset, NU). The dynamic pencil strokes and intricate layers of colours in his work demonstrate his ability to reimagine the landscape and the figures that can be found on the land. In addition to having been exhibited extensively across Canada and the United States, his works are included in public collections of many esteemed institutions, including the Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto, ON) and the Winnipeg Art Gallery (MB).
