Mixed media Inuk artist Maureen Gruben (Tuktoyaktuk, Inuvialuit, NT) is known for her sculptures, installations, and public art interventions. She holds a BFA from the University of Victoria (BC). In her work, the organic meets the synthetic in ways that weave together everyday life and environmental concerns. She forges critical links between threatened Arctic land and communities, global environmental crisis, and cultural concerns. Her work can be found both in Canada and internationally in various national and private collections. She was longlisted for the Aesthetica Art Prize (2019) and the Sobey Art Prize (2021).
