Born in Iqaluit (NU), Lucassie Ikkidluak started carving full-time at 18. A master sculptor and key player in the Inuit art world, his works are highly sought after, especially his muskox sculptures with their delicate ivory horns, elegant proportions and expertly carved coats of hair draping down the animal. Lucassie Ikkidluak's work has been featured in numerous international and national exhibitions and has won many awards and prizes. His sculptures are part of major collections, such as those of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (QC), the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery (AB) and the Winnipeg Art Gallery (MB).
