Born in Happy Valley-Goose Bay in Labrador, self-taught photography artist Jennie Williams is now based in Nain (NL). Through her practice, she wishes to capture, document and immortalize the lived experiences and traditional events of the Inuit in Nunatsiavut, creating a space for storytelling and traditional knowledge sharing. As well as being part of the Government of Canada’s Global Affairs Visual Art Collection, Jennie Williams' works have been included in multiple exhibitions, including Nunatsiavut: Our Beautiful Land at La Guilde in 2019 (Montreal, QC) and the Bonavista Biennale in 2021 (NL).
