Janine Parent completed her diploma in crafts art with a specialist in ceramic at the Limoilou CEGEP in 2000. She has taken several masterclasses and workshops to perfect her firing techniques and learn basketry. A peaceful sense of harmony emerges from the simplicity, clean lines and refined shapes that characterize her ceramic creations. To obtain a soft and silky surface, each piece is patiently polished before undergoing a raku firing. This produces a spontaneous and random set of lines making every work unique. Parent received many awards and distinctions and is part of the Conseil des métiers d'art du Québec as well as the Association des céramistes du Québec.
