Kakulu Saggiaktok (1940-2020) was an Inuk artist from Kinngait (Cape Dorset, NU) who specialized in drawing and printmaking. She began drawing in the 1960s when a printing studio was established near her home. Many of her works explored the theme of transformation between human and animal—a traditional subject matter in Inuit folklore. Her work is now an integral part of several museum exhibitions, such as the Winnipeg Art Gallery (MB) and the Amon Carter Museum of American Art (Texas, USA).
