Blanche Winters is an experienced seamstress from Makkovik, Nunatsiavut (NL). At age 15, her mother—artist and elder Nellie Winters—taught her traditional seaming skills. She is not only respected for her talent in creating clothing, but also for educating others and sharing her knowledge. For over 17 years, Blanche Winters has been teaching in her hometown. Working with sealskin, moose hide, fur, duffle, and beading, she creates one of a kind garments such as slippers, mitts, hats, kamiks, handbags, and jackets.
