As part of the Prix François-Houdé 2019, join the artist Montserrat Duran Muntadas who will create a sculpture before your eyes. Recipient of the 2019 award, Montserrat Duran Muntadas will show you every step in the creation of one of her magnificent sculptures made from glass and textiles. She will even encourage some of you to assist her in making this sculpture. You will leave with a small glass work from the artist!
Originally from Spain, Montserrat Duran Muntadas is known for her sculptures, contemporary jewellery and artistic installations in which she combines fire-worked glass and textiles. A graduate of the Real Fabrica de Cristales de La Granja and the University of Barcelona in fine arts, she trained in silkscreen printing and digital embroidery in 2017 to further her knowledge of textiles. Winner of the Prix François Houdé 2019 and several other awards, she has exhibited her work in more than thirty group exhibitions in Canada and abroad, including SOFA in Chicago and European Glass Context in Denmark. She lives and works in Montreal since 2012.
