The Ville de Montréal, the Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec, and La Guilde invite you to the award ceremony during which the Prix François-Houdé 2018’s recipient will be unveiled. The ceremony will be held on November 29 at La Guilde in the presence of the artists, their guests, and Mrs. Christine Gosselin, head of Culture, Heritage and Design at Ville de Montréal.
Come and discover the creations of the nine finalists taking part in this exhibition from November 30, 2018 to February 17, 2019.
IF CLOUDS WERE COTTON CANDY, exhibition of the 2017 winner MAGALI THIBAULT GOBEIL
This evening will also be the occasion for the opening of the most recent exhibition of the 2017 winner, the jeweler Magali Thibault Gobeil: If the clouds were cotton candy. Highlighting his interest in experimentation and research, this is an exhibition of works, each more fragmented than the next. This exhibition will also continue until February 17, 2019.
ABOUT THE PRIX FRANÇOIS-HOUDÉ
The Prix François-Houdé is addressed to Montreal artisans beginning their career. This award gives prominence to the remarkable craftsmanship of their creations and their original contributions to the practice of a particular craft, whether related to the transformation of wood, leather, textiles, metals, glass, ceramics, paper or any other material, while recognizing the mastery of exploratory techniques related to their specific discipline.
