For those who couldn't attend, here is the video of their presentation of the steps involved in making a sneaker and the integration of their practice into the art world:

HOTELMOTEL was born out of a shared desire to preserve Montreal's footwear know-how ethically and sustainably. Niki Jessup and Corinne Bourget met during master's classes in shoemaking at the Centre des Métiers du Cuir de Montréal. After doing internships in France and Australia, Bourget worked in production houses and has a degree in leather goods, as does Jessup who also holds a Masters in Footwear Design from the London College of Fashion. Each with complementary strengths and great mutual respect, the idea of collaborating and creating a local manufacturing company was born.
