Thursday, October 2 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
La Guilde invites you to a double opening for the exhibitions Masko Iskwewok and Carving Memory. Most artists will be present to celebrate the opening of the exhibitions. This is a public event and all are welcome.
Masko Iskwewok
The exhibition Masko Iskwewok (Bear Women) brings together Atikamekw artists Eruoma Awashish and Meky Ottawa in an artistic dialogue shaped by years of collaboration and friendship. Through works combining painting, printmaking, and mixed media, the artists pay tribute to the women in their lives: mothers, aunts, sisters, and grandmothers. These figures inspire a new body of works that celebrate the strength, care, and resilience of Indigenous femininity.
The exhibition runs until November 20, 2025
Carving Memory
At the crossroads of myths, family stories, and intergenerational memory, Carving Memory brings together three sculptors who are major figures in Inuit art in Canada. The exhibition is divided into two parts: the gallery space highlights recent creations by David Ruben Piqtoukun and Ruben Anton Komangapik, while the permanent collection space presents a selection of works by Abraham Anghik Ruben. Through their unique sculptural voices, the public is invited to explore a profound connection between memory, heritage, and creative force.
The exhibition runs until December 21, 2025
No reservation is necessary for this event. We look forward to seeing you there!
