As part of the Journées de la culture, La Guilde is proud to invite the artist Meky Ottawa to animate the creation of a collective artwork. Participants will have the opportunity to paint acrylic imaginative forms on a large fabric and will be guided by Meky Ottawa in the design of this great colorful artwork. Young and old can come and go as they please during this workshop open to all.
Meky Ottawa
Multidisciplinary artist from Manawan, Meky Ottawa and Nico Williams creates installations, films and prints. In 2018, she painted the mural Hommage à Alanis Obomsawin located in the Ville-Marie district, a project entrusted to her by MU. She also participated in ELLES Autochtones at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. In 2016, the NFB selected her to take part in the creative laboratory in media arts Déranger, alongside artists Eruoma Awashish and Caroline Monnet. At the Gala Prends-ça court! à Montréal, in Montreal, she won the INIS Special Mention and the Prix Vidéographe in 2013. She also received the Prix Jeunesse at the Festival Ciné Alter’Natif in Nantes (France).
