Gallery and Programming Assistant

Subject to YCW approval, La Guilde (Canadian Guild of Crafts) is seeking to fill a temporary 4-month (16 weeks) position from May 15 to September 3, 2022, in its temporary exhibition and educational department, and its art gallery.

La Guilde is looking for a person with an undergraduate or graduate degree in visual arts, art history, museology, or any other field of study relevant to its mission of:

  • To support, promote and encourage contemporary First Nations and Inuit artists as well as artists working in contemporary crafts and to ensure the viability of their practice.
  • To highlight this artistic work to our audiences in order to raise awareness, openness, and knowledge of these practices.
  • Preserve and develop the permanent collection of Inuit art, First Nations art, and fine crafts for educational purposes.

The person must be familiar with the PC and MAC interface, as well as the Office Suite software, and be bilingual: French and English, both written and spoken

Since its foundation, La Guilde encourages candidates from indigenous communities.
