Archives and Documentation Assistant

La Guilde (Canadian Handicrafts Guild) is seeking to fill a temporary 4-month (16 weeks) position from May 16 to September 4, 2021, in its archives department.

La Guilde is looking for someone with a university education, ideally at the graduate or post-graduate level, but an undergraduate degree may be considered. Areas of expertise will ideally be in archival science, digital information management, history, art history, or other related fields. The purpose of this mandate is to continue the sorting, classification, and description of the archives, particularly of the Inuit exhibitions held at La Guilde, as well as their digitization, according to the standards of the CAC and RAD, as well as the files related to our permanent exhibition to be updated and to current or future exhibition projects.

The ideal candidate should be familiar with the use of databases, such as Veevart, Salesforce, File Marker Pro and be familiar with the use of the Office Suite and Google and be familiar with PC or MAC platforms.

Since its foundation, La Guilde encourages candidates from indigenous communities.
