As part of the National Indigenous Peoples' Day, La Guilde invites the author and composer Mike Paul for an evening of Indigenous Tales and Legends inspired by the Atalukans of the Pekuakamiulnuatsh. Mike Paul is a specialist of the Ilnu culture, the history, their way of life, His knowledge was handed down orally in the forest by his parents and grandparents where he spent part of his childhood. Join us for an unforgettable evening where you will have the chance to be transported into the culture of the Ilnu people, its myths, legends and realities!

Mike Paul is an Ilnu songwriter born on the shores of Lake Pekuakami in Mashteuiatsh. Nominated for the Canadian Folk Music Award and the Indigenous Music Awards in 2019, he is one of the pioneers of his community in the music industry where he has been working for 28 years. Guided by the river and the spirit of the winds, his voice resonates in the universe for the protection of life on Assi (land) and for the pride of the millennial culture of his Ilnu people of hunter-gatherers. Mike Paul has performed numerous concerts in Brittany, France, the United States and Canada. He has composed soundtracks for television programs, including Mishkuenita on APTN. He is also a storyteller and lecturer on First Peoples culture.
