Born at the outpost camp Nuwata (NU), Papiara Tukiki is a graphic artist working in the Kinngait Studios (Cape Dorset, NU). Having spent her childhood on the land, her artistic practice is strongly influenced by nature and her works show her respect and fascination for the Arctic fauna, often depicting polar bears, caribous, and rabbits. PapiaraTukiki's work was first included in the Cape Dorset Annual Print Collections in 2004 and has continued to appear regularly in the following years. She has participated in numerous exhibitions, locally and internationally, and her work is in numerous public collections, including those of the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa, ON) and the Brooklyn Museum (New York, USA).
