Based in Kinngait (Cape Dorset, NU), graphic artist Mayoreak Ashoona gained recognition for her uniquely imaginative, dynamic, and colourful drawings. She has been consistently represented in the Cape Dorset Annual Print Collection since 1978. Mayoreak Ashoona has exhibited in Canada and internationally, and was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts in 2003.
