Logan Ruben is a painter and sculptor from Paulatuk, NT, currently based in Cranbrook, BC who descends from a family of artists who practice in a wide variety of mediums, from textiles and embroideries to wall hangings, soapstone and bone. Through painting, Ruben crafts the landscapes of Paulatuk, memorializing the rich lands he hails from on canvas through bright colours and geometric shapes. Each painting brings him closer to the land where hunting, fishing, and camping were a part of his ordinary life. By mixing landscapes and places with camping locations by memory, Ruben shares stories of his northern home with his audience as well as his children.
