Multidisciplinary Inuvialuk artist and curator, Kablusiak uses various techniques that make up a unique practice. They use multiple mediums, including lingerie, white flour, soapstone, permanent marker, bed sheets, felt, acrylic paint, and words. In order to address the impacts of colonization, community health, well-being, and everyday life, Kablusiak's work intimately connects family and community ties to Inuit groups. They are interested in gender expressions and sexuality, thus engaging in a very contemporary and subversive practice which resonates with the current issues for the youth. Kablusiak holds a diploma in Fine Art from Grant MacEwan University (Edmonton, AB) and the Alberta College of Art and Design (Calgary, AB). Their works have been presented beyond the exhibition space and are in the Art Gallery of Alberta (Edmonton, AB), Global Affairs Canada Visual Art Collection, and the Art Gallery of Ontario, among others.
