Caroline Ouellette has been a glassmaker since 1996. She holds a PhD in Philosophy, specializing in Art Glass, from the University of Adelaide, Australia. In 2004, she cofounded Welmo Glass Studio with Patrick Primeau. Her work embraces the tension of glass as a brittle, yet strong material. Her approach transposes these two polar aspects of the material by making them metaphorically resonate with each other. She creates pieces that are always anchored in the human senses and encourages the viewer to experience her work and contemplate it through their own perceptions. Caroline Ouellette's works are featured in numerous collections, including those of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec.
