As part of the exhibition Lindsay Montgomery, Monster Faience, La Guilde invites artist, Lindsay Montgomery, to host an introductory workshop to majolica painting on terracotta. Participants will have the opportunity to paint a terracotta tile and dip it in coloured glazes to decorate it according to their taste. They will be able to retrieve their work, once fired in the weeks following the workshop. This activity will conclude with a guided tour of the exhibition with the artist.
Lindsay Montgomery
Recipient of the Winifred Shantz Award in 2018 and Grand Prize Winner of the Dish International Exhibition (Medalta, USA) in 2017, Lindsay Montgomery teaches ceramics at Concordia University. She holds an interdisciplinary master's degree from the University of Minnesota (USA), a bachelor's degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (Halifax, NS), and an advanced ceramic degree from Sheridan College School of Crafts and Design (Oakville, On.). Her work has been in several exhibitions in Canada and in the United States.
